More love to our furry friends! Today, we’re featuring Pawprints, an Indonesian company that makes gut-friendly pet food to improve your pet’s overall digestive system, well-being, energy, and more! Now, they’ve just topped up with $1.7M.

Their secret ingredient? Insect protein.

  • Launched in June of this year, Pawprints claims to have recorded a monthly sales growth of over 4.6x.
  • You can find their products in Shopee and Tokopedia, as well as at 150 physical stores in Indonesia.

Investor check. Creative Gorilla Capital led the round. Meanwhile, Altrui (Japfa Comfeed Family Office), Tujuh Bersaudara Investindo (Tigaraksa Satria Family Office), and several individual investors also joined in!

  • Pawprints Inspired acquired an unnamed Japanese pet food company.

😸 Ammeowzing stuff

Insect haters, you might want to sit out on this one. Just kidding, their pet food actually looks like your average kibble.

Pawprints Inspired creates pet food out of farmed Black Soldier Fly, which is grown without antibiotics or growth hormones.

  • Why insects? According to Pawprints’ website, these flies are rich in antioxidants and natural prebiotics that are gentle for your pet’s tummies and helps fight against salmonella and E.coli.
  • Also, insects are a great source of protein!

🧫 SEA loves pets

According to Future Market Insights, the Southeast Asian pet market was valued at $1.6B in 2022.

  • In 2032, it’s projected to be valid at a massive $3.08B.

More and more food choices! Indonesia-based Compawnion also recently raised an undisclosed amount from East Ventures.

🐕 Bone-appetit

They’re going to release their insect-based dog food product next year.

  • Oh, and they’ll also develop new products and business areas to help support your furbabies.
