November 25, 2022
Fonos

Listen here. Say hi to Fonos! This Vietnamese audio content platform just raised a $1.8M Pre-Series A. (And FYI, they're one of the leading audio platforms in the country.)

  • Founded in 2019, they grew revenue 7x in 2021 and had over 130,000 monthly active users in October.
  • They're responsible for the most audiobook sales in Vietnam, according to Data.ai.

Investor check. North Base Media led the round. AngelCentral, Orvel Ventures and Vietcetera's Vietnam Innovators Fund also joined in!

🎶 So. Much. Audio.

There's something for everyone, and they've got every kind of audio you'll need for each part of your day!

Apart from best-selling audiobooks, they offer paid members over 2,100 exclusive pieces of audio content like book summaries, focus music for work, meditations and sleep stories.

  • Don't want to pay? Free members can read Chapter 1 of each audiobook title available on Fonos.

🎧 Listen the best way, your way

Having a massive content library is just one thing. They're also giving you the ultimate listening experience!

  • They have multiple features like adjustable reading speeds, an auto-off timer and more.
  • All audio is professionally recorded, and they use engaging voices you'll love listening to.

🎙 The next big thing?

The new cash is to help them expand to a new type of audio content — podcasting! Oh, and of course, they'll continue putting out new audio content across all verticals.

  • Like what they've done with audiobooks, they're looking to be a leading podcasting player in Vietnam and are cooking up launches for Q1 and Q2 next year!
