Say hi to Groundup.ai! This Singapore-based startup uses AI and IoT to minimize unplanned downtime for heavy machinery and keep industrial workplaces like factories safe. Now, they've just raised a $1.8M seed!

• Their customers are in the heavy machinery, construction, manufacturing, maritime, oil & gas, mining and logistics industries.

Investor check. Wavemaker Partners led the round. SEEDS Capital, the investment arm of Singapore and several angel investors also joined in.

They have IoT and AI sound sensors that can quickly be deployed and record high-quality sound data. These sensors can pick up anomalies that indicate potential issues with machines so you can have them checked out early — before any major breakdowns happen!

• (FYI, sound data is great because each machine gives off unique sounds and insights.)
• This can help clients save millions of dollars from breakdowns and unnecessary inspections.
• Instead of just scheduling machine inspections and tune-ups randomly, only schedule them for when the sound data shows the machine is broken (or when it predicts it's the right time for an inspection).

Condition-based maintenance. Based on sound data, you can get real-time equipment diagnoses and get notified of any abnormal behavior.

Predictive maintenance. Get reports about when your machines will break down — in advance. You can also get machine health reports to understand each item's remaining use of life (RUL) to help make decisions.
