Anchor’s away! Hullbot is an Australian ocean robotics startup that designs, builds, and deploys autonomous underwater robots that inspect and clean ship hulls.

  • Now, they’ve just raised a $10.5M Series A ($16M AUD).

Investor check. Regeneration.VC led the round.

Katapult Ocean, Climate Tech Partners, Folklore Ventures, Trinity Ventures, Rypples, NewSouth Innovations, Artesian, and Impact Ventures/Ocean Impact Collective joined in!

🚢 Less fuel, please

Hull cleaning is critical for most maritime vessels like cargo ships and ferries.

  • Buildup of marine growth, algae, and other sediments causes ships to drag, increasing their fuel consumption.
  • Shipping already accounts for around 1B tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year!

🛳️ In action

Using their autonomous underwater robots, Hullbot can help ships save their fuel by up to 26%, cutting operational costs and reducing emissions.

  • They’ve already completed 1K cleans globally, across ferry, commercial shipping, and fishing operations.

Global footprint. They have operations in the US, Mexico, Europe, Singapore, and local markets.

🧐 What’s with the $$$?

They’ll grow their production capacity, evolve larger robotic systems, and establish more international service hubs to strengthen their presence across APAC.
