Charging up! Meet VFlowTech. This Singapore-based startup builds rechargeable batteries to store energy, so they can power everything from residential areas to large-scale energy grids. Now, they've just raised a $10M Series A!
Investor check. The round was led by Real Tech Holdings. SEEDS Capital (the investment arm of Enterprise Singapore), Wavemaker Partners, Sing Fuels, Turkey-based İnci Holding, US-based Pappas Capital and Singapore-based Carbon Zero Venture Capital also joined in!
🔋 Not just teeny-tiny batteries
They build PowerCubes (aka, rechargeable batteries) that can store energy. They have three models that have different capacities, each with a different use case.
Apart from the PowerCubes, they also have a smart energy management system (EMS) that can manage energy supply and load demand and stabilize the grid infrastructure.
Why it matters? Energy storage solutions like PowerCubes are key to unlocking the full power (pun intended) of renewable energy.
🤓 The problem
Most battery solutions aren't economically scalable for large-scale use cases because they have short lifespans, and their performance decreases over time.
Even worse? They are also not environmentally friendly or recyclable and risk fires and explosions. (I mean, what's the point of environmentally friendly renewable energy if the batteries you use to store it aren't good for the environment?)
😉 It's all in the tech
But PowerCubes are different. They're Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries designed with VFlowTech's expertise and tech breakthroughs, which makes them viable for even large-scale use cases.
👇🏼 In real life
We know! It's complex and a bit hard to imagine. So here are a few projects that VFlowTech's PowerCubes have powered:
🌏 International, baby!
The $$$ is to set up a 200 MWh production line capacity and scale up their manufacturing for their 250 kWh modular vanadium-based long-duration energy storage solutions.
See you soon? They'll also be expanding to the US, Turkey, Japan and India with new partners! Oh, and they'll also be exploring new markets with emerging demand for sustainable energy storage solutions.
