Doin' it for the dentists! Meet Structo. This Singaporean startup builds 3D printing solutions for the dental industry. Oh, and they just raised a $10M round, according to VentureCap Insights.
Investor check. SG Innovate, Seeds Capital, Apsara Investments, Fushia Investments, GK Goh Ventures, GGV Capital, EDBI, Wavemaker and Pavilion Capital joined in.
🦷 Wait, but why?
There is massive demand for clear dental aligners, which are custom-made and can only be printed by 3D printers. No two sets of aligners (or teeth) are ever the same!
🤨 How it started
They developed their own 3D printing method called Mask Stereolithography (MSLA) technology. It was scalable and printed super fast!
😎 How it's going
Machines. They build and sell 3D printers that are custom-made to print clear aligners with MSLA tech. Serve tons more customers and give them their custom-made aligners on the same day!
Automation solutions. You're printing thousands of unique clear aligners a day — and can't get any mixed up. They build custom systems like resin recovery systems, quality control stations and even robotic arms to help you!
Custom material. They have their own material, Structomer Model-X, optimized to build clear aligners ultra-fast and efficiently.
Software solutions. Managing it all is tough! They build custom integrations and software to connect with every part of the manufacturing process.
