$2.2M for Indonesian coffee carts

October 28, 2022
Jago

How do you like your coffee? We like it Jago style. This startup brings affordable yet quality café-grade coffee to Indonesians anytime, anywhere through mobile café carts! Oh, and they've just raised a $2.2M Pre-Series A!

Investor check. The round was co-led by Intudo Ventures and BEENEXT. CyberAgent Capital and Arkblu Capital also joined in!

✨ Old meets new

Launched in June 2020, they offer hot and cold drinks, coffee, tea, and other specialty drinks. They operate through fully-electric mobile café carts manned by Jago baristas.

  • The carts function as mini-cafés with their own freezers and everything needed to brew hot and cold drinks.

Modern twist. This isn't new — Indonesian street vendors have been selling coffee on the street for years. But here's how Jago leveled it all up!

☕️ How it works

Anytime, anywhere! Order on the Jago mobile app, place your order and the café cart will arrive at your doorstep in minutes. Then, they'll make your drink on the spot. (More fun than your usual delivery, huh?)

  • You can also look for a nearby Jago location in-app, pre-order and pick it up in person once it's ready!

Say bye to instant and ready-to-drink coffee. Their freshly-made drinks start at 8,000 IDR ($0.55) per cup.

  • Their drinks are of higher quality and taste great, while still being convenient and wallet-friendly.

Hyperlocal. Carts operate in key locations in Jakarta by serving within a 1-2km radius to prepare and deliver drinks ultra-fast.

  • The areas are either high-density with demand from residential and business areas or areas with few coffee shops despite strong demand.

💥 What's next?

The cash is to expand to over 200 mobile cafés (covering 20 hyperlocal areas focused on Jakarta). They'll also be growing their operations and tech teams.
