July 7, 2022
Azota

Remember your favorite teacher? They'll love this. Here's Azota! They've just raised a $2.4M Pre-Series A led by GGV Capital to help teachers automatically create and grade tests.

Investor check. Nextrans and Do Ventures also joined in.

💯 If this were school, we'd give them an A+

Founded last year, they've already brought on 30% of students and teachers in Vietnam. (We know, crazy!)

  • They have 700,000 teachers and 10M primary, secondary and high school students as users.
  • 300M exercises have been submitted on their system.
  • During peak exam season, they served 6M users monthly.

🔠 The ABCs of Azota

Create tests in a snap. Take photos of the test with the questions and answers on your phone. From there, their app will randomize the questions and answers and create hundreds of test combinations.

  • The system can recognize Vietnamese tests with 99% accuracy.
  • Convert tests from Word or PDF to interactive online tests.

Automate grading and track performance. Cut the grading process from two hours to two minutes. Oh, and Azota will even help you track each student's performance.

Stay on the watch. Effectively proctor students in real-time — even if they're online. Monitor their screens and videos to catch any sneaky cheaters!

🤔 Why it matters

By automating these repetitive and time-consuming tasks, teachers can spend more time creating effective and engaging lessons and giving personalized support to students.

Plus, there are tons of solutions like Zoom and Google Meet to transition classes online. But there are only a few tools teachers can use to solve testing and grading and bring them online.

🔜 Coming soon

They'll be doubling down on their tech to improve performance and adding new features.

  • What might be next? More advanced question bank features that allow teachers to select items from the bank and generate tests.
