Look at those kicks. Meet Kick Avenue! They're an Indonesian marketplace that just raised a $2.9M Series A. But they're not just any marketplace — they've got collectible sneakers, luxury items and streetwear.
Investor check. Korea's KREAM and Malaysia's SneakersLAH co-led the round — both are fellow marketplaces.
👟 What are those?
Founded in 2017, they started out as a marketplace for sneakers from global and local brands like Adidas, Nike, Ventela and more.
Here and now. In 2019, they started expanding to new categories: apparel and luxury. They now sell tons of different sneakers, clothes and luxury items for men, women and children!
Beyond just the sneakerheads! Expanding to new categories unlocked a larger range of customers.
🤔 How it works
They have buyers and sellers on the platform, with items sourced from sellers on the platform (or sourced by Kick Avenue themselves!)
💰 What's with the $$$?
They'll be leveling up the buying and selling experience, including launching a physical (yes, physical!) showroom! They'll also be expanding further into the luxury category.
