$22M to satisfy your hangry cravings

Feel like having chicken? Indian food? Or maybe some Japanese? Hangry's got them all, and they're here to take your order. This Indonesian startup is a multibrand cloud kitchen that delivers fantastic food at affordable prices. Now, they've just raised an additional $22M in Series A!

  • Prices are from 15,000 to 70,000 IDR (aka, $1–6), and orders are rated an average of 4.7/5 on their platform.
  • They sell 1M portions a month and expect to triple that to 3M by the end of the year.

Who cashed in? Journey Capital Partners led the round. Orzon Ventures, Sassoon Investment Corporation and Alpha JWC Ventures joined in.

  • The round was a mix of equity and debt, with the debt funding from Genesis Alternative Ventures and InnoVen Capital.
  • It raised a $13M Series A last year led by Alpha JWC.


🍗  Who's Hangry?

Launched in 2019, Hangry's a delivery-only restaurant that launches and acquires international food brands.

  • They have five brands, including San Gyu (Japanese Beef Gyudon), Ayam Koplo (Chicken Sambal) and Dari Pada (Coffee, tea and other beverages).
  • They already have over 70 outlets.

Eating up other brands. While initially focused on in-house brands, it has recently acquired Accha, an Indian food brand, to expand to new tasty offerings.
