Skyports

Ports, but for air taxis and drones! Meet Skyports. This UK-based leading advanced air mobility (AAM) vertiport infrastructure and drone services startup just raised a $26.1M Series B.

  • AAM vehicles are air transport systems that move people and cargo between places not served or underserved by traditional aviation. Think drones and air taxis!

Investor check. Singapore's ST Engineering invested $3.13M. Kanematsu Corporation, Goodman Group, 2i Aeroporti and GreenPoint also joined in.

  • ST Engineering has 45 years of experience in the aerospace industry.

🌏 Southeast Asia connection

  • Since 2021, Skyports has worked with ST Engineering for drone services to monitor and inspect reservoirs for Singapore's Public Utility Board.
  • Skyports, Sumitomo Corporation and ST Engineering also formed a consortium to provide unmanned aircraft services for ship-to-shore parcel deliveries in Singapore.
  • They also partnered with AirAsia to explore developing air taxis in Malaysia.

☁️ Sky-high, baby!

What do they do? They design, build and operate vertiports (take-off and landing infrastructure for AAM vehicles).

They also partner with electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft manufacturers.

  • For what? To help enable safe, sustainable and efficient cargo and passenger flight operations.

Plus, they have drone services! They do deliveries for medical and logistics partners and ship-to-shore and offshore deliveries for those at sea.

  • They also offer surveying and surveillance drone solutions for customers to gather data and track in real-time.

✈️ What's next?

Relationships. Not the romantic kind, though! They'll strengthen ties with industry partners, regulators and more to build better AAM-based solutions.
