$26M for UangCermat to serve Indonesia’s underbanked, unbanked

Here’s UangCermat! They’re an Indonesian fintech that provides payroll-linked loans for blue-collar workers. 

  • Now, they’ve just raised $26.4M in a mix of equity and credit facilities.

Investor check. Cocoon Capital, NP Consulting, and IFP Securities co-led the round’s $6.4M Series A equity round.

  • Meanwhile, SixPoint Capital Management provided a $20M structured credit facility.

Combining digital workflows with offline distribution, UangCermat offers savings, loans, and investment services to the underbanked and unbanked. 

  • They also offer fintech as a service infrastructure to banks and other microfinance players who do not have robust tech stacks.

🧾 What’s with the $$$?

The fresh capital will be used to support the expansion of their payroll-linked loan portfolio. 

  • The equity capital will be used to reinforce long-term stability, while the credit facility will be used to scale the loan book.
