April 7, 2023
Soft Space

Who's softening the complexity of payments? It's Soft Space! This Malaysian fintech just raised a $31.5M Series B1 round — the largest Series B for a Malaysian startup!

  • Their revenue has nearly doubled in the past two years.
  • Not some small fry. Customers include 70+ financial institutions and partners across 23 markets like Maybank, CIMB, SCB Thailand, Hong Leong Bank and Bank of New Zealand.

Investor check. Southern Capital Group led the round. Transcosmos, Japan's JCB and Hibiscus Fund (managed by RHL Ventures and South Korea's KB Investment) also joined in!

  • This includes the $5M Japanese international payment brand JCB invested into Soft Space in January 2022 as part of their strategic partnership with the company.
  • The partnership with JCB helped link Japanese customers to Southeast Asia better.

💳 How it works

Founded in 2012, they have a full stack of products to make it easy for businesses to accept payments.

Make 'em pay. They have mobile POS solutions and open APIs.

  • These are plug-and-play and customizable for their customers, and third parties can easily develop value-add features to integrate into the platform.

They also have their own Fasspay e-wallet. Plus, they offer white-label e-wallet services for brands to create their own e-wallets.

  • On top of these, they also offer value-add solutions to help businesses grow, like CRM solutions and a customer rewards program!

💰 What's with the $$$?

They'll keep pushing for growth and their goal of making accepting payments accessible and affordable!
