Here’s Kita! This Philippines-based startup delivers fruits and vegetables to hotels, restaurants, and food manufacturers. And they just raised a $3M seed!

  • Launched in 2022, they currently operate three warehouses and a fleet of cold chain-enabled delivery trucks.

Investor check. Gentree Fund and Altara Ventures co-led the round!

🧅 Bring it to the table

Kita’s approach eliminates supply chain costs, so farmers get better cuts and clients get fresher ingredients.

And they do this with an automated supply chain process that uses AI to help them predict prices and supply requirements. Plus:

  • Financing. They finance farmers, land owners, and producers for their farming and operating needs.
  • Logistics. They’ve also got a fleet of delivery trucks to bring fresh produce to the city.

Not just restaurants. They also deliver to outlets, grocery stores, and online stores (like Metromart!).

🥄 Yum!

Kita serves local restaurant chains like Gerry’s Grill, The Aristocrat, and Ippon Yari.

  • They also serve food brands like The Mugen Group (UCC, CoCo Ichibanya, Mos Burger) and the Moment Group (Din Tai Fung, Manam, Ooma)
  • As for hotels? They serve Manila Hotel, Sofitel, and Novotel.

🍲 Seeing AI

They’ll use the $$$ to further explore using big data and AI tech to digitize the agricultural supply chain!
