Players gonna play! Indonesian game developer Anantarupa Studios just raised a $3M seed led by Oriza Greenwillow Technology Fund. But who are they, anyway?

They were founded in 2011 and focused on B2B services, like custom games, AR and VR.

Now we're here. In 2018, they decided to focus on being a game development company with the vision to be a leading IP developer in Indonesia and build for a global market.

• They're starting with esports MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) games.

🎮 Going loco for Lokapala

Lokapala is the IP developed by Anantarupa Studios. It's a 5v5 MOBA esports game, the first esports game built out of Indonesia.

The game integrates historical, mythological and cultural aspects of Indonesia and SEA. Right now, they're prepping a test game server for SEA and developing several game modes and new features, like the Battle Pass and international matches that match players across countries.

• It introduces historical and mythological characters and heroes.

Beyond the game. Lokapala's unique game content (aka, its characters and story) can be valuable IP in other content industries looking for new content — even for the global market.

• The IP can be used in comics, animation, films, merchandise and even gamified educational content.
