$3M to help companies leave a planet-positive impact

December 14, 2022
Handprint

Meet Handprint! They're a Singapore-based SaaS startup that helps companies easily make a positive impact on the planet — while keeping it transparent, quantified and automated.

  • They've worked with companies like Lazada, Uber Eats, Saladstop, foodpanda, Thunes, Sleek and more.
  • They're not about just reducing our negative impact (like our carbon footprint) — they want to focus growing our positive impact (aka, our handprint).

Oh, and they've just bagged a strategic investment from Singtel Innov8. This takes their seed round, first announced this March, to over $3M.

🌏 Leaving a (planet-positive) mark

Handprint launched in 2020 as a corporate sustainability platform for companies to choose from pre-vetted and curated impact projects and integrate that impact into their business.

  • How they made this happen? NGOs would manually list their own projects on Handprint and share project information with potential corporate partners.

In action. How does it all work? You can run campaigns or integrate sustainability into your business model!

  • Saladstop works with Handprint to help allocate a certain percentage of Saladstop sales towards planting mangrove trees in Indonesia.
  • A client uses Handprint to allow banks to have fully configurable planet-positive cards.

🚀 Going beyond

They've already built a solution for companies. Now, it's time to help the partners too! Handprint just launched a new platform, Handprint for Impact Partners. It's a SaaS platform that makes it easy for NGOs (aka, the impact projects) to digitize, measure and track the work they do.

  • This allows them to manage and report the impact they create in a quantified way, providing metrics that can give assurance to the businesses that back their projects.
  • The lack of trust in the verifiability of projects and their reported impact has been a key challenge.

And more. They also allow NGOs to receive recurring funding (with zero upfront cost) and also digitize these NGOs' processes to make reporting their impact and finances more transparent.

  • Handprint also uses tech like satellite imaging and machine learning to cut up to 80% of the usual intermediary costs for impact projects.

💰 What's with the $$$?

They'll keep building tech to make it easier for companies to create certified positive impact and turn sustainability into a competitive advantage for businesses.
