$4M to compress data so you can save lots of money

May 3, 2023
Kecilin

Bigger ain't always better. Here's Kecilin! This Indonesian SaaS startup just raised a $4M Pre-Series A led by Mandiri Capital Indonesia.

Investor check. Provident Growth, BNI Ventures, Arkana, and more also joined in!

🤔 Why it matters

Companies, especially large enterprises, have (and are collecting) massive amounts of data. And each year, they collect and store even more! There's a reason they say every company's now a data company.

  • According to Kecilin, around 90% of all data was created in the past two years. Oh, and that amount of data is growing up to 30% YoY.

That's a problem. That means slow file transfer and download speeds, full storage and huge storage and internet costs. And it'll only worsen over time — unless you have a solution to manage that growing amount of data.

🔠 The ABCs on Kecilin

Founded in 2018, they compress data for companies — making files like text, documents, images and videos smaller — without sacrificing quality. No blurriness and pixelation here!

  • This means these files take up less space, making storage cheaper and file transfers and downloads fast.
  • Most importantly, lowering these massive costs helps you keep your revenue up!

☁️ How they do it

They have their own compression algorithms and design everything for easy data management. They have two products:

Kecilin Kloud. It's a cross-platform cloud compression service allows you to compress and store files like images and videos on the cloud!

Kecilin CCTV. This software lets you stream and record CCTV videos with way less bandwidth and storage requirements.

💰 What's with the $$$?

They'll focus on product development and plan to expand outside of Indonesia!
