$7.5M to make disease diagnosis fast, affordable and accurate

January 10, 2023
Qritive

Saving lives. Here's Qritive! This Singapore-based healthtech just raised a $7.5M round led by MassMutual Ventures. With AI, they're making diagnosing diseases faster, more accurate and affordable — especially for cancer!

  • They have a network of 150+ pathologists and are supported by 10+ partners like GE Healthcare.

Investor check. SEEDS Capital and Exfinity Venture Partners also joined in!

✅ The right path(ology)

Qritive's AI solutions can interpret the whole-slide images used in pathology (aka, disease diagnosis) in seconds. This makes treatment time quicker and makes cancer care much more accurate.

  • What's a whole-slide image? That could be a photo of a body tissue sample (like lung or skin cells) under a microscope.

Their product, Pantheon is an end-to-end ecosystem for pathologists that digitizes their workflow, from case management and AI analysis of whole-slide images to generating reports.

  • And no, this doesn't replace pathologists. But it does help them be more efficient and quick while still maintaining quality!

🤯 Why it matters

70% of pathologists are concentrated in ten countries. (Yes, 70%!). That leaves 47% of the world's population without basic access to the diagnostics they need.

  • Digital pathology and solutions like Qritive can help fill this gap.

Need for speed. By 2030, Asia will account for almost half the global cancer cases. So yes, we need to act quick — especially with the shortage of pathologists. Lives (possibly our own...) depend on it.

🌏 International, baby!

With the new $$$, they'll expand beyond the US and India and bring their operations to new markets. Oh, and they'll also build new product offerings and secure the regulatory clearances they need.
