A new alternative for SEA startups to IPO?

May 11, 2022
90 Seconds

Here's 90 Seconds! This Singapore-headquartered startup is one of the world's leading video creation platforms. They help brands shoot, edit, manage and create engaging videos. Now, they're prepping to go public but not where you expect.

🎥  Throwback

Founded in 2010, they've created over 40,000 videos for 4,500 brands, including Amazon, Nike, Tripadvisor, Deloitte, Citibank and Hasbro.

  • They connect brands to over 13,800 local creative partners in 160 countries.

Any video. Company stories, case studies, ads, product demos, animations and more. They do it all!

Anywhere. Want a video filmed in Tokyo? New York? Anywhere else? Leave it to them.

🔔  A new way to go public?

They've partnered with Bombora, an Australian pre-IPO fund, which just invested $10M AUD ($9.97M) into 90 Seconds.

Not your average listing. Bombora will be helping 90 Seconds with this fresh $$$ and their public listing expertise to get 90 Seconds to IPO on the ASX (Australian Stock Exchange).

  • The ASX has seen over 107 tech IPOs since 2016.

🤷🏻‍♀️  Why do this?

Over $52B of VC money has been invested into the SEA startup ecosystem since 2010, creating tons of strong startups with operational scale.

The problem? Startups 5–10 years old may be strong businesses yet struggle to find a promising exit for their earlier investors.

🚀  What's next?

Partnering with Bombora means they can exit on the ASX easily. Plus, this helps with their long-term goals for a sustainable business. Now, they're ready to expand through organic growth and acquisitions.

  • With the new cash and all 90 Seconds' stock being converted to common stock (thanks to the deal), acquisitions are now simpler to make.

Zoom out. Bombora's looking to bring on more SEA startups to the ASX, and with Bombora's mix of capital and listing expertise, 90 Seconds may not be the first.
