Accelerating and connecting the Archipelago that is the Philippine web3 scene

November 18, 2022
Archipelago Labs

Here's Archipelago Labs! This Philippine startup accelerator just launched a $10M fund for web3 startups and talent in the Philippines.

😮 Who's behind all this?

Founded in 2022, A-Labs was founded by Tiger Global-backed Philippine crypto exchange PDAX, as well as Oak Drive Ventures (ODVI) and Magellan Digital Investment Group (MDIG).

  • ODVI and MDIG are early investors and board members in PDAX.

💰 For VCs

Are you looking into the Philippine web3 market? A-Lab's got your back with dealflow, market insight and their network.

  • Partners include Integra Partners, Plug & Play, Cadenza, Coinbase and Forge Ventures.

🚀 For startups

They invest in, accelerate and advise Philippine web3 startups and foreign web3 startups looking to enter the market!

  • Their current portfolio includes campus gaming startup Acadarena and web3 gaming startup Playdex.

Plus, they're also launching different hackathons, incubators and accelerators for different verticals and startup stages.

And their first one is launching soon! They'll run their first cohort for their eight-week cohort-based accelerator program, A-Labs Accelerator Block (ALAB), next year.

🧐 And back to the fund...

The $10M is for early-stage (even idea-stage) companies with sustainable business models and sound token economics.

  • Sectors they focus on? The intersection of web2 and web3, consumer applications, infrastructure, tools, DeFi and the metaverse.
