ADDX adds another $20M in Pre-Series B extension

November 16, 2022
ADDX

Take my money. Here's ADDX! This Singaporean startup is making investing in private markets accessible. (Yup, everything from private equity and unicorns to hedge funds and venture debt!) Oh, and they've just raised an extra $20M in a Pre-Series B extension.

  • Founded in 2017, they've grown their users by 80% year-on-year.

Investor check. KB Securities, a subsidiary of South Korea's largest banking group, led the round.

  • They initially raised a $58M Pre-Series B in May from Thailand's Stock Exchange, Hamilton Lane, UOB and more.

🤑 Why it matters

Many great deals in private market investing are only for a small group of high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs). They're either too expensive, or you might not have access to (or know about) the investment opportunity.

🔠 ABCs on ADDX

Who? Individual accredited investors or corporate accredited/institutional investors outside the US can join ADDX.

  • Individual accredited investors: ~$229k ($300k SGD) income yearly, net financial assets of $1M SGD and net total assets of ~$730k ($2M SDG).
  • Corporate accredited investor: company net assets must exceed ~$7M ($10M SGD) in value, or the company's entire share capital must be owned by accredited investors.

Start low. Invest as little as $10,000 USD into unicorns, hedge funds, pre-IPO companies, private equity, VC funds and more! Oh, and you can cash out anytime.

  • Offerings are all screened and carefully selected — examples include Hamilton Lane's Global Private Assets Fund, Singtel's sustainability-liked digital bond and Aura Venture Fund II.

😮 Yup, there's blockchain involved!

They're also powered by blockchain and smart contract technology. These helps automate transactions, tokenize large investments into small and accessible investment opportunities and promote security.

🌏 Goin' global!

With the new cash, they'll grow their investment platform for wealth managers, ADDX Advantage.

  • Wealth managers include private banks, brokerages and family offices.

Plus, they'll also focus on expanding to new markets by working with partners and snagging new licenses.

  • KB Securities, whose shareholders include the Singapore Exchange, Temasek's Heliconia Capital and more, will be exploring collaborations with ADDX.
