Here’s Firmus! They’re an Australia-headquartered firm that provides AI cloud services across APAC. They’ve recently secured $2B in a strategic equity investment round.

Investor check. The round includes follow-on participation from Coatue and NVIDIA.

  • Blackstone Tactical Opportunities, other Blackstone vehicles, and global trading and technology firm Jane Street also participated.

The ABCs of Firmus

Firmus designs and operates vertically integrated, modular AI factories equipped with proprietary energy and cooling technology.

  • But it’s not just that. They also offer a specialized cloud platform for building, training, and running large-scale AI models.

Why their tech matters. They’re building the necessary infrastructure to support next-generation AI.

  • As AI models become larger and more complex, they need access to high-performance and reliable compute.

🧐 What’s with the $$$?

The fresh capital will boost the next phase of their Project Southgate AI rollout across Australia.

  • It will also help them lay the groundwork for expansion into other key APAC markets.
