Ready to explore? Singapore’s BeeX, which develops AI-powered autonomous underwater vehicles for subsea inspection, just raised a $7.4M ($10M SGD) Series A funding round!

  • They have not closed the round and are still raising funds. They’ll use the $$$ to support international expansion.
  • They raised a $2M bridge round in November 2023.

Investor check. ShipFocus Ventures and Earth Venture Capital led the round, while NUS Technology Holdings, SEEDS Capital, and Infinita VC joined in.

🌊 Safety first

The company specializes in building hovering autonomous underwater vehicles (HAUVs) for subsea inspection across the renewables, defense, infrastructure, and offshore oil and gas sectors.

  • According to BeeX, their HAUVs can operate with less human involvement, which can improve costs and safety.

Their footprint. They’ve developed a new HAUV model, BETTA, which they claim is fully booked for deployment through 2025.

🔎 How it works

BeeX rents out their HAUVS for single and repeated underwater inspection projects. They also offer long-term rentals!

  • Customers can get access to BeeX’s cloud-based data reporting tool, Sambal, which controls and manages the HAUVs.
  • BeeX can also process 3D data point clouds and offer geo-referenced, multi-sensor anomaly reporting.

Editor's Note (September 26, 2025, 1:15pm): We corrected the article to clarify that BeeX has not yet closed their $10M Series A and are still fundraising.
