Let’s get cooking! Cambodia’s ATEC provides households with sustainable, affordable, and accessible modern cooking products.

Now, they just raised $15.5M!

Investor check. Lightrock and TRIREC co-led the round, while Schneider Electric Energy Access Asia Fund also joined in.

ATEC’s tech stack empowers women in the Global South to cook cleanly and turn their decarbonization into an income.

Some households in the Global South are still cooking using wood fire.

  • Cooking with wood generates one gigaton of emissions each year. Plus, it can also cause health complications.

🌞 The ATEC solution

ATEC has an internet of things (IoT induction called eCook, which households can use to earn income through their Cook2Earn program.

How it works. Their Cook2Earn tech integrates individual household emissions data with global carbon markets and mobile money providers.

  • Households can receive direct $$$ from their emission reductions!

Need gas? They also have ATECBio, which converts farming waste into biogas that’s safe for daily cooking use.

🔥 What’s with the $$$?

They’ll expand their network of smart, clean cookstoves and roll out 200K units of ATEC’s eCook over the next three years.

  • They’ll focus on Bangladesh, Cambodia, Malawi, and Nepal, doubling down their presence in Asia and Africa.

More growth ahead. ATEC will also expand its manufacturing facilities, position itself as a market leader in next-gen carbon data, and grow its carbon partner network.
