Yvonne Lim is the Regional Managing Director of Southeast Asia at The Executive Centre, a premium flexible workspace provider serving multinational clients and high-growth companies.
They design and operate elevated workspaces across major cities, combining hospitality, cutting-edge design, and community.
👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?
I lead the Southeast Asia operations of The Executive Centre, a premium flexible workspace provider.
My job is a mix of strategy, people leadership, and customer experience. I make sure our centres are not just beautiful spaces but business enablers for top-tier professionals.
🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?
People assume flexible workspaces are just about desks and chairs.
What might surprise you is how much thought goes into hospitality, design, and member experience—it’s more like running a five-star hotel with a business twist.
🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?
Leading TEC Southeast Asia through the COVID-19 pandemic was both the most challenging and rewarding experience.
Keeping teams connected, clients supported, and our centres operational during such uncertainty reminded me of the true value of leadership and adaptability.
🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?
I’m closely watching the rise of AI-enhanced workspace tools and how they’re reshaping the future of work—from smart booking systems to analytics on space usage.
It’s fascinating to see technology make flexible work even more dynamic and personalized.
💼 What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?
Master both the operational side and the people side. It’s easy to focus on numbers and leases, but what sets you apart is how well you understand human needs—be it your clients, your team, or your partners.
🗣 What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours?
The future of work and workplace design.
From hybrid models to wellness-driven spaces, I love exploring how our work environments influence productivity, culture, and collaboration.
🎥 What's your favorite movie/TV show?
I’m a fan of the Jurassic Park series.
Beyond the thrill and nostalgia, I love how it explores innovation, risk, and the consequences of pushing boundaries—a theme that oddly resonates with leadership and business too!
🍨 What's your go-to ice cream flavor?
Coffee from Häagen-Dazs.
It strikes that perfect balance of sweet, rich, and just a little bit indulgent—kind of like a reward after a long strategy meeting!
