Clear Robotics raises $1.75M to scale across South Asia, SEA

Clear it out. Clear Robotics is a Hong Kong-based company that develops electric, autonomous vessels that can he. Now, they’ve just raised a $1.75M Pre-Series A.

Investor check. ShipsFocus led the round, while Katapult, Ocean, SGInnovate, and M7 Holdings provided follow-on funding.

💧 The ABCs of Clear Robotics

Founded in 2020, Clear Robotics develops vessels that can clear water-surface trash and remove invasive waterweeds such as water hyacinth.

  • Apart from that, their vessels can also conduct draft surveys, which evaluate the weight of a cargo on a ship, and bathymetric surveys, which maps underwater terrain depth and shape. 

Some more detail. Clear Robotics’ vessels, which come in four variations, are available for renting or for retail purchase. 

  • According to their website, they’ve deployed over 25 vessels globally. 

💲 What’s with the $$$?

They’ll use the fresh capital to scale their operations across South Asia, the Middle East, and SEA, where they’ve launched in Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

  • They will also develop larger unmanned vessels, grow their engineering team, and accelerate their R&D into automated port surveying.
