Start farming with eFishery!  This Indonesian startup helps fish and shrimp farmers increase productivity through tech. And they just raised $108M in a Series D, according to regulatory filings.

Investor check. Abu Dhabi-based 42XFund led the round. SoftBank Vision Fund II and Northstar Group also joined in!

  • 🦄 alert. This pushes their post-money valuation to reportedly $1.3B.
  • Big fish! They raised $90M in a Series C last January 2022, the largest funding round for an aquaculture startup in the world.

Their IoT equipment and app platform allows farmers to detect shrimp diseases and improve pond management. Oh, and you can also receive tips from their farmer network!

  • Their app also helps farmers get the best price for their harvests, so they don’t lose the $$$ to middlemen.

Financing. The app also connects with financial institutions that help farmers apply for loans (feeding fish is expensive!).

  • Get approved in as fast as 3 days by government-registered creditors.

Smart feeders. Fish cultivation is a tough business that has high upfront costs–70% to 90% of total farming expenses are related to feeding.

  • eFishery’s automated feeders reduce up to 28% of the costs!

🎣 What’s the catch?

eFishery’s aquaculture tech can help beat food insecurity, which currently affects 349 million people today.

  • Indonesia’s one of the world’s largest producers of fish.
  • By creating a fair supply chain, Indonesian farmers and individuals can enjoy a sustainable and steady supply of fishies.
