Green Rebel Foods

Hungry for more? It's time to meet Green Rebel Foods. This Indonesian alternative protein startup helps you switch your meat for plant-based goodness. Now, they've just raised a $7M Pre-Series A.

  • They're available in over 800 F&B establishments and 100 retailers, including Starbucks and Domino's.
  • They created Asia's first whole-cut plant-based steak.

Who cashed in? Investors include Unovis, Better Bite Ventures, AgFunder, Teja Ventures, CJ Group and Kane Lim (Yup, from Netflix's Bling Dynasty).

👨🏻‍🍳  How it works

Instead of just creating a few plant-based beef patties and chicken chunks, leaving it up to you to incorporate them into your own recipes, Green Rebel goes beyond.

  • You can buy their products at retail outlets or buy them wholesale if you're an F&B establishment.

With a dash of Asian spice. While they sell a variety of basic plant-based cuts, they also sell boxes of ready-to-cook plant-based versions of your favorite recipes.

  • The goal? Make plant-based protein tasty, healthy and affordable.

We'll list a few of their products, but don't blame us if you get hungry! (And yes, they taste like the real thing.)

🐮  Beef. Beefless steak, Beefless Chunks and Beefless Rendang.

🐔  Chicken. Chick'n Katsu, Chick'n Karaage and Chick'n Chunks.

🧀  Cheese. Cheddar-style vegan Cheeze Blocks.

😋  Good for you, good for the world!

One box of their beefless meat means you're saving 9000L of water (12 years of drinking water/person), 33.6kg of CO2 (113km of driving emission), 182.4 sqm of land and 13.2kg of grains.

  • Their products have no added preservatives, refined sugar or cholesterol.

🌏   International, baby!

They've just expanded to Singapore and are looking to expand to four countries, including two in SEA, the Philippines and Malaysia.
