GREENS

Here's your daily dose of GREENS! This Indonesian startup's just raised their pre-seed! The amount's hush-hush, but here's what we know.

  • They're here to help people grow and eat the most nutritious food from wherever they are!

Investor check. East Ventures led the round, and other investors also joined in.

🤨 Why it matters

Food supply chains are inefficient. This causes food wastage, food contamination and higher food prices.

GREENS decentralizes food sources by being hyperlocal and cuts the distance from farm to table!

  • The goal? Food security and giving everyone equitable access to high-quality and nutrient-filled meals.

🧑🏻‍🌾 So, how do they do it?

From seed to table. They're building a network of hyperlocal food outlets that sell fresh and nutrient-filled meals.

  • Their meals use 90% less water and take 70% land to cultivate.
  • Your salad is made of ingredients grown in the same outlet you're ordering your meal from!

No green thumb required. They've built GREENS Pods, which will be found in each of their outlets. These fully-automated indoor garden pods create optimal conditions for growing vegetables.

  • They're portable, quick to set up and powered by controlled environment agriculture (CEA) tech, AI and IoT tech.
  • They also grow microgreens, which have up to 40x more vitamins, minerals and antioxidants than regular vegetables.

🤯 Farmville fans, unite!

Here's phase two: after that, they'll move into "meta farming." With web3 and blockchain, they'll allow anyone on their platform to grow food in the metaverse.

  • Wait, what? Yup, what you farm in the metaverse will be translated into real-world farming, and you can choose to sell or eat the crops.
  • Their GREENS Pods are built with blockchain.

😉 Let's talk about the future

With the cash, they'll continue building their ecosystem for food decentralization, which will be rolled out in two phases.
