👋🏼  How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?

I run a software company. We develop solutions that help restaurants manage their day-to-day operations and ultimately grow the business. Through point of sale, smart reporting, business insights, purchasing and inventory management, we help our clients thrive.

🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?

My family and I moved to the Philippines to start Mosaic over five years ago. I really saw the opportunity to start in this market — but eventually build a regional powerhouse, showcasing Pinoy (Philippine) talent. I also hoped to visit many of the beautiful beaches that the country's 7,000+ islands have to offer (still need to find more time for that!).

🏆  What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?

Starting Mosaic and assembling our amazing team to help drive its growth in the Philippines and beyond!

🔍  What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?

The continued evolution of the startup ecosystem in the Philippines. It finally is getting the attention it deserves regionally (and beyond). There are some truly amazing people building game-changing companies here. I am excited to see how this continues to play out and how the ecosystem matures. I do hope it maintains its collaborative spirit that helps make it unique.  

💼  What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?

From a product perspective, be sure you truly are solving a pain point (or points) for your potential customers — and listen to their feedback as you evolve the product. From a team perspective, surround yourself with people who are smarter/better than you in their particular areas of expertise. You can't do it all, so make the best hires you can!

🗣  What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours?

Travel! Though, I am very excited to be able to move beyond "talking" and into "doing" in this area, finally!

Stracciatella gelato or Rocky Road ice cream!
