👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?

Midstay is a startup that helps companies attract and retain talent by offering them a better work-life balance with different remote working experiences from dreamy locations.

We are on a mission to positively impact well-being by changing how we work. Midstay is built around the idea that everyone should be able to work from anywhere. We aim to create a world that combines efficient work and better quality of life.

🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?

Business-wise: I'm obsessed with bringing the best possible offline experience via a breathtaking online experience. The blend of both worlds is a challenge I love to solve.

Lifestyle-wise: I'm out in the water surfing from 5:30 am to 7:30 am. That's only after that when I can start my day of work comfortably.

🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?

I have built a music festival of more than 20k festival-goers. I was even more proud of this achievement as this was reached together with people part of my family.

🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?

I wouldn't say Web3 like all of us would say, even though I do. I'm watching the rebound of the Travel industry really closely since Midstay is an HR tool linked with a travel experience.

💼 What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?

HR is a tough industry, especially when you try to mix it with another industry (Travel for us), so I'd advise taking a good moment on the market and user research before starting out, as we did to gather valuable insights and understand the pain points.

But also in general: surround yourself with the right team first, and iterate after.

On our side, we watched this Remote Workers Abroad area for a few months before understanding that the traction was actually coming from the B2B. And this light pivot was only possible with an open-minded team, ready to qualify the right opportunity, understanding and listening to the market to lead Midstay in the right direction.

Agnostic. Getting to know more about people and their life experiences.
