Graceila is the Co-founder of Juragan Material, a B2B marketplace that streamlines procurement processes for construction materials end-to-end. 

All of the four co-founders of Juragan Material came from the construction sector and experienced the pain points themselves for 40+ years combined. With this in-depth industry knowledge, they create industry-specific solutions that will make the construction industry operate more agilely and effectively. 

They raised a $4 million seed round last year from Go Ventures and SIG.

👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?

I sell steel…. and dreams! (with concrete action plans of how I will turn those dreams into reality, of course)

Jokes aside, I develop tech-based products for building contractors, property developers, and construction material vendors to further improve the way construction project is managed, realizing a more agile construction industry through technology adoption.

🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?

I exercise almost every day. From aerial hoops to triathlon races, I enjoy them all. 

Exercising has become such an integral part of my life. It keeps me sane, it is a good investment for the long run, and if I do it with friends, it is also a good way to have refreshing quality time with them. Win-win-win from every angle!

🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?

Being a female co-founder in an industry that society considers a "male-dominated" industry has been the biggest highlight. And being a co-founder itself has brought so much color into my life.

Developing industry-specific products, building and working alongside a high-caliber team (shoutout to y'all, #AnakJuragan!), and truly making a change in the massive construction industry in Indonesia have given me tremendous learnings and experiences. Not to mention getting the chance to do all these as a female — it proves that life is all about being willing to execute, equipping oneself with the skills needed, and luck!

💼 What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry? 

1. Live the pain points before you try to create solutions.

2. Never aim for perfection. Perfection is always one day away.

3. Go celebrate, even for the small wins.

🗣 What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours? 

Process improvement, process optimization, process efficiency. I am an industrial engineer, and while other engineers make things, industrial engineers make things better!

Cookies and Cream. I can be really indecisive when it comes to food choices and cookies and cream gives me the chance to mix two desserts in one go!
