Ice Breakers

Ice Breakers with Jason Sosa

March 29, 2024

Jason Sosa is the founder and CEO of Azara AI, a startup that allows you to build your own “AI agents” that can work for you as if they’re real team members.

Before Azara, he built and exited a company that developed computer vision emotion recognition software to determine age, gender, emotions from a webcam.

👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?

Azara builds AI that you can delegate tasks to. We understand businesses don't care about AI. What they really care about is ROI. They don't want to just chat, they want it to do the work for them.

🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?

Previously sold an AI company, was once on a reality TV show, walked on fire, previously EIR at venture fund, accomplished Keynote speaker, AI business management consultant. Didn't graduate college.

🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?

Coming from humble beginnings working as a welder with no formal education to having raised over $100M in total for various projects. Speaker and business advisors to CEOs and building cutting-edge AI.

🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?

I could talk for hours on AI agents, but I'm also interested in how this converges with tokenized assets such as Bitcoin, and mixed reality in the coming years. Passionate about AI and how these technologies impact education and society as a whole.

💼 What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?

Come from a place of curiosity and learn as much of the lingo as possible. Understand the practical use cases and how it solves customer pain points just as much as the technical capabilities.

🗣 What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours?

The future of work

🎥 What's your favorite movie/TV show?

The Matrix

🍨 What's your go-to ice cream flavor?

Chocolate
