👋🏼  How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?

We are a community — a Kada! — who build tools and experiences that make it easier for students of all backgrounds to launch careers in the digital space!

🧐  What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?

I'm a closet hip-hop dancer, and I love to rap! People think I'm either too prim/proper or too "innocent" for this type of vibe, but I can definitely throw it down! 😉

🏆  What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?

Seeing all of my students graduate back in 2019 as part of the first ALX Launchpad Program for young leaders. I was so proud of them for going through the intense 6-month experience as the *first* cohort, and for individually overcoming personal obstacles to do so! I truly felt like a proud "mother hen" watching them walk across the stage.

🔍  What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?

Web3 and DAOs. I'm curious to see how learning communities spring up from this and what incentives will work to motivate students to participate and contribute.

💼  What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?

Talk to students every day. In the edtech space, it's easy to get caught in the "tech" part of the equation and forget that, at the end of the day, we are trying to build products and services that will revolutionize human learning and growth. As I've always said, edtech is not just the business of education, but the business of transformation!

🗣  What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours?

My time living and working in Africa — I loved it so much and I can't stop talking about it once I start!

The Good Place and The Bold Type are my favorite TV shows!
