Peter Hoang is the Co-founder and CEO of Finblox, a startup that makes it easy to buy and earn interest from saving (not trading) crypto. Before Finblox, he was Co-founder and CPO of Gotrade, a stock trading app that lets anyone invest in US stocks for as little as $1.

👋🏼  How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?

We help people enjoy the upside of crypto wealth building with better security and lower complexity.

🧐  What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?

I like writing angel checks for other promising startups, and I used to play violin and perform in concerts throughout Europe during secondary school.

🏆  What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?

It's hard to pinpoint one biggest highlight so far! The biggest ones that stand out are getting into Y Combinator with my previous startup and building Finblox with the amazing team!

🔍  What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?

There are so many exciting trends in the Web3 space right now! Here are a few: growing institutional interest in crypto, expanding the utility of NFTs (Non-fungible tokens) in gaming and real estate, and seeing a glimpse of what the metaverse may shape up to look like in the coming years.

💼  What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?

If you're looking to build the next unicorn, start with a problem you're trying to solve, then quickly build a prototype to talk to potential users. Build something people want!

Investments, startups.

The Witcher.

Dark chocolate gelato!
