Pranav is the Co-founder of Allospaces, a workspace access platform for distributed teams across Asia Pacific. Allospaces currently partners with 300+ co-working spaces and 1000+ meeting rooms across 11 countries, including brands like The Work Project, Great Room, Hive and The Executive Centre.

Previously, Pranav ran a search firm called Mapped that helped high-growth startups, leading private equity firms, and Fortune 500 companies across the region.

👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?

My job is a bit of everything. As an early-stage founder, I'm everything from a product manager, salesman, and marketer to a customer service rep.

🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?

For the first 6 months of building Allospaces, my co-founder and I never met in person! Remote working is definitely here to stay!

🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?

I started my first company, a recruitment firm called Mapped, when I was 26. It was one of the most daunting but rewarding challenges I've ever undertaken — the highlight of my career so far!

🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?‍

I might be biased here, but it's the broader future-of-work tech space. The pandemic has completely changed the way we work, and I believe the systems in place for collaboration, engagement, hiring, and infrastructure will have to adapt.

💼 What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry? 

Assuming the industry is being a founder, I'd say the most important thing is to have clarity of why they'd like to be an entrepreneur. It's easy to get swept up by the vanity metrics of the minority of successes — but in reality, the process is grueling, and the odds are stacked against you.

🗣 What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours? 

Tennis! If it's about Federer, then I can keep talking for days!

It's gotta be the Office US, or It's always sunny in Philadelphia!
