Before MyPetGo, Richard built the digital media brand Lifestyle Asia, trilingual marketplace TradeIt, and future-builder Rhino Ventures Asia.
👋🏼 How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?
MyPetGo is the world's most powerful, functional and accurate health and location monitor for dogs, cats and other working animals.
The triaged online and offline data enables an AI-driven next-step recommendation on what the owner/caretaker can do with the data and, most importantly, who can help them in their vicinity with the issue at hand.
🧐 What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?
We aim to help the veterinarian industry to reduce the alarmingly high amount of suicide.
🏆 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far?
1. Selling Lifestyle Asia to Hubert Burda Media in 2016
2. Going from zero to one with MyPetGo, and actually pulling off a complex and crazy idea and making it a reality beyond just theory
🔍 What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?
The pet-tech sector. It's growing very fast as the sector is highly underserved, digitally speaking.
💼 What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?
Join all the global pet summits and events, and build your network. People are very open to collaborating and partnering in this industry.
🗣 What's one thing you can keep talking about for hours?
The need to digitally transform the veterinary industry!

Succession, and I like a lot the docs from Netflix.
