Sourabh Gupta is the VP of Product at Flip, an Indonesian fintech that helps people and businesses move money. Before Flip, he led product at Gojek, including its international product expansion and GoPay payments platform.

🎙  How would you explain your job to someone outside tech?

Flip helps Indonesia move money, be it for consumers or for businesses. My job is to build product solutions to do this scalably, reliably, and with lightning-fast speed.

🤨  What's something about you or your job that would surprise us?

For someone working in the digital product & technology space, I am personally a bit tech-averse and prefer old-school things.

🏅 What has been the biggest highlight of your career so far, and why?

Successfully launching GoJek in Vietnam back in 2018. It was an enormous responsibility with me having no prior experience of doing something similar. The ability to rally an entire organization and channel the focus to overcome all the challenges makes it a memorable event.

🤓  What's a startup trend or space you're watching this year?

The eruption of DeFi. It has the potential to fundamentally change how we perceive/value money and transact with it.

🎓  What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?

Build ->Test -> Learn -> Repeat! No amount of analysis or research can give you the real feedback you get by taking your product to users.
