Dress better with Claude! This Indonesian D2C startup creates women’s apparel for SEA and beyond, and they just raised $$$ in a seed round.

  • Launched in 2018, they add new new designs to their inventory every Monday.
  • Along with their digital platform, they also have 3 physical locations in Jakarta and 1 in Singapore.

Investor check. CyberAgent Capital and the family office Prima Fund I funded the round.

  • The amount raised was undisclosed.

👚 Business in style

Claude’s clothing line screams young, chic, and modern. Unlike other fashion retailers though, Claude manufactures new designs in micro-batches to reduce waste.

  • They make small quantities upon release, and just produce more clothes when demand soars. Creating in batches also helps them put out designs fast.
  • It’s in the data. Claude has a self-built real-time analysis system to monitor consumer trends.

❎ The unfashionable truth

Indonesia produces 2.4% of the world’s textiles–it’s one of the country’s biggest exports! But the country has a fashion pollution problem because of consumer demand and manufacturing practices.

Plus, some factories dump toxic waste into rivers like Citarum, where dyes can change the color of the river every day.

  • Claude claims that their business model reduces finished goods waste by 90%.

💰 What’s with the $$$?

They’ll add more products and deepen their penetration in local and foreign markets.

  • They'll boost traction in Indonesia and the rest of the SEA, as well as the Europe and US markets.
