Ice, ice, baby! Don't give Superkul the cold shoulder. This Indonesian last-mile delivery startup for frozen and chilled products just raised a seed round led by East Ventures.
The numbers are hush-hush, but here's what we know!
🧊 Walking on thin ice
Indonesia lacks reliable cold chain logistics services, especially for last-mile. Whether you're an MSME or a multinational, you can't escape this — this problem keeps you from expanding and growing your business. And it's not cheap to try to solve it yourself!
The problem? Your customers tend to receive damaged or spoiled products that aren't fresh since most choose low-cost cold chain delivery services. (Admit it, we all love picking the ones with the lowest fees...) So, you'll lose customers.
🏍 The cool kids
They've got a motorcycle fleet with refrigerated boxes (called Superkul boxes) that can go from -22°C to 10°C to match the exact temperature your items need.
Oh, and they also have an API that allows you to track your deliveries, monitor temperature and more. You'll get your goods super fast, super fresh (and super cool, of course)!
💰 What's with the $$$?
They'll be scaling to hit 100 fleets by mid-2023, expanding the team and operating in Indonesia's major cities to provide last-mile delivery, middle-mile aggregators and cross-docks services.
