Here’s MADCash. They’re a Malaysian fintech startup that offers micro funds and entrepreneurial support to local women entrepreneurs.

And they just raised their 5M MYR ($1M) Pre-Series A!

  • MADCash stands for Multiply, Assist, Donate Cash.
  • Launched in 2020, they now have $700K under management. Plus, they’re set to have extended their support to over 800 women by the end of the year!

Investor check. Malaysia-based Artem Ventures led the round, while MSW Ventures and the ScaleUp Founders Fund joined in.

🤑 All about cash

Running a micro business has its fair share of challenges. Irregular cash flow and lack of credit history make it difficult for most business owners to access loans from traditional banks.

For MADCash, crowdfunding women entrepreneurs (whose small businesses were affected during the lockdown) is the best way to make an impact.

  • Pay it forward? Their Shariah-compliant approach ensures that one-time donations turn into ‘perpetual donations’.
  • How that works? When one woman pays back her loans, the $$$ goes to another woman business owner.

🫵 How you can help

Got a spare hour? You can mentor women on how to grow their businesses. Or..

  • Join as a funder and donate as little as 100 MYR ($25)!
  • Become a trainer or coach and share a skill with the community.

It’s transparent. They also run on a proprietary platform that allows donors to see whom their funds are helping at any time.

💸 What’s with the $$$?

They’ll enhance their AI capabilities, double down on operations and marketing, and explore expansion opportunities in Southeast Asia.
