Here’s Octen. They’re developing a real-time, LLM-native search layer that gives AI agents a faster and cleaner way to browse information.

  • Now, they’ve just raised a $10M seed!
  • Octen is headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore.

Investor check. Square Peg led the round, while Argor and an unnamed group of leading AI scientists joined in.

❓ Search, search, search

The way humans and AI agents use search engines differs. For instance, we usually search in sequence.

Type a keyword, click search, type a keyword again, and so forth.

  • But AI agents don’t have to follow this sequence because they can run thousands of searches simultaneously.

🔎 Where Octen comes in

Octen is purpose-built for AI agents to run search queries faster and more cleanly.

  • Their infrastructure can handle 1M queries per second per account, with a P50 latency of 62 milliseconds.
  • News and data can appear in the index within 5 minutes of publication, so information and context stay fresh.

An update. Octen has launched its web search API and embedding search API, enabling developers to ship LLM-powered apps, chatbots, research assistants, and autonomous agents!

🪜 The next step

They’ll use the $$$ to accelerate product development, expand developer adoption, build enterprise partnerships, and grow their engineering and developer teams over the next year.
