Off-ering amazing plant-based eats

Off Foods

Nice to meat you! Say hi to Off Foods. They're an Indonesian startup that dishes out plant-based meat. They've just raised a $1.7M seed led by Alpha JWC to start cooking up even more.

  • They're available in seven cities in Indonesia.

Who else cashed in? Global Founders Capital, Creative Gorilla Capital, Lemonilo (healthy food startup) and United Family Capital (UFC) also joined in.

🍔  How it started

Founded last August, the alternative meat startup started with their flagship product — plant-based "chicken".

  • It's made from soybean protein and has zero cholesterol.

Why it matters. Get healthy and save the planet while you're at it! One plant-based meat can save 20 pounds of carbon dioxide, as well as save water and land.

😋  How it works

They partner with restaurants to incorporate Off Meat's plant-based chicken into their menu with their own recipes. (Basically, a B2B strategy)

  • You'll find plant-based chicken nuggets, butter chicken, chicken sambal, fried chicken and more.
  • View the different dishes Off's partners serve and easily order from them on their website.

Having restaurants use plant-based meat in different dishes better influences Indonesians to try it for the first time and start ordering it more. (It's just much easier and probably much tastier than cooking it on your own!)

  • They'll also begin working with more F&B chains in the country, like Mangkokku, Zenbu and Byurger.

💰 What's with the $$$?

New eats! They're fueling R&D to offer more variations of its plant-based chicken, starting with other options like nuggets.

They're also expanding to other cities in Indonesia. Plus, they're going beyond B2B and will launch a direct-to-consumer strategy to reach more stomachs.
