MindX

Watch out for MindX! This Vietnamese startup began as a non-profit that taught part-time coding classes. Now, they say they've become the largest coding school in SEA and just raised a $15M Series B!

  • Founded in 2015, they've graduated over 35k students of all ages.
  • They've tripled their locations to over 32 campuses in Vietnam!

Investor check. The round was led by an education-focused PE fund, Kaizenvest. Thai edtech Aksorn, Japanese HR company Mynavi and existing investor Wavemaker Partners also joined in.

  • It also got another round of debt financing from Beacon Fund.

⏳ A little bit of history

By their Series A in 2021, they became a coding school that taught coding skills to both kids and adults through courses as short as two months to as long as six years!

  • Tech for all ages. Whether you're a parent who wants their kid to learn coding or a professional who wants to upskill and land a tech job — they have classes for you!

🙌🏼 Here and now

Now, they've expanded their offerings to include other courses beyond coding, like blockchain, data analytics and UI/UX design — all in-demand tech skills today.

Gone hybrid. From all-offline pre-COVID, all of their classes now have a hybrid model that lets you join physically from at a MindX campus or virtually.

Beyond the city. They also started entering Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in Vietnam and hope to hit 45 cities by June!

🧠 More than just learning to code!

They let students work on projects based on real-life scenarios and support those looking for a job through career talks and mock interviews.

Students in longer courses can also join their entrepreneurial program, where they can learn skills like marketing.

🇻🇳 From Vietnam, for the world!

They also want to help companies globally, like those in the US and Europe, tap into Vietnamese tech talent.

  • They partner with over 300 companies in Singapore, Australia, Thailand and more.

💰 What's with the $$$?

They'll develop their products, create more educational content, improve their hybrid learning experience and data-driven tech tools and push to reach more students in rural areas!

  • They're also working on developing accredited programs and offering scholarships for female students to promote gender equality.
