You've ridden a Grab or an Uber. But have you tried Beam? This Singapore-based bike-sharing startup operates fleets of e-scooters and e-bikes across Asia-Pacific. Now, it has just raised a $93M Series B to zoom far ahead.
Who cashed in? The round was led by Affirma Capital. Sequoia Capital India, Hana Ventures, ICT Capital, EDB Investment (EDBI), AC Ventures, RTP Global and Momentum Venture Capital.
🏍 How to Beam
All you need to do is download Beam's app, find a Beam near you and go! Enjoy the fresh air and the wind in your hair on the way to work, when you're out with friends or if you're tired on the walk home. When you're done, just park it!
🤓 About the biz
Beam partners with local governments to bring its high-quality and safe e-scooters and e-bikes to their areas. Beaming is convenient, environmentally friendly and affordable. Just pay by the minute!
💥 New wheels
Safety first. The new cash is to build its newest e-scooter decked out with updated safety features. These will help protect pedestrians and limit where e-vehicles can park or ride (based on city rules).
Trio. Soon you'll have a third option for a more powerful ride. They're looking to release e-mopeds this year, which they expect to be 1/3 of its fleet over the next two years.
🌏 See ya soon
Beam's also looking to expand to the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan and Turkey.
