Singapore’s Green COP, a sustainable fuels startup, cops angel funding

February 16, 2024
Co-founders of Green COP and their angel investors holding the signed agreement (left to right): Sng Yee Ching, Low Wang Chang, Hanson Lee, Teo Teng Seng (appointed as Chairman), and Desmond Chong (from Ken Energy).

You’ve heard of good cop and bad cop, now get ready for Green COP! They’re a Singapore-based startup that produces sustainable biofuels from biowaste. They recently completed their angel investment round.

  • Their main market? Green COP wants to offer renewable energy solutions to the maritime and transportation sectors.

Investor check. Ken Energy and other angel investors joined the round. Oh, and they’re keeping the funding raised hush-hush.

🥥 The ABCs of Green COP

They say one man’s trash is another one’s treasure. Well, that’s exactly what Green COP is doing—just replace the word treasure with fuel.

  • They convert biowaste into a colorless, alcohol-based fuel that is a more eco-friendly energy alternative to traditional fuels.
  • Plus, their biofuels have an extended shelf life of more than 24 months.

Gotta get that oil. According to Green COP, they’ve already formed a collaboration with a leading global palm oil player to turn their waste into fuel.

🌴 What the future holds?

Green COP will use the $$$ to build a sustainable biofuels pilot plant with a daily production capacity of one ton.
