It's Summertime. And no, we don't mean the season. We mean Summer International! This Singapore-founded startup just raised a $5M seed to help the top content creators build and launch their own brands.
Investor check. GDP Ventures, Teja Ventures and Gushcloud International joined in!
⏮ The backstory
Founded in 2018, they've incubated brands like Singaporean influencer Jamie Chua's skincare line, Baby Face (FYI, she's got over 1.2M followers). They also launched wellness brand HANJAN, which launched at Coachella, no less.
🤔 What it's all about
The goal? Create an end-to-end ecosystem to help creators and influencers launch and grow the next generation of beauty brands — built exactly for their customers through data.
💁🏻♀️ Not like the others
But creators tend to reach out to them first, thanks to their reach and resources. Here's why:
Launch fast. Forget needing to hire or do all that work yourself. They'll set you up with everything you need. Yes, including investing up to $150,000 and offering operational support to bring your brand to life!
Top-tier distribution. Oh, and they also run a social selling distribution network, SumCo, powered by agents, creators and influencers who share products from SumCo's curated brands.
You also can tap into their network of live commerce distributors, mainly micro-influencers in SEA. Plus, they help you sell on e-commerce platforms and large retail stores too!
Data's in the details. Apart from using data from consumer data and analytics to build the right product, the fact that Summer owns their distribution network is key.
