Need a doctor? Vietnam's Med247 has got your back anytime, anywhere. The O2O startup offers services on its app and chain of family clinics to give you affordable and accessible quality care. They've just raised a $4.5M Series A to do even more!

  • They have over 50,000 active users.
  • They have grown revenue 6x and increased pharmacy orders 8x in the past 18 months.

Who cashed in? Altara Ventures led the round. Temasek's Pavilion Capital, East Ventures, MiRXES, Venturra Ventures and KK Fund also joined in.

🚑  The strategy

Founded in 2019, they started by providing in-app services for post-treatment after visiting their clinic. The goal? Use tech to build a one-stop-shop for everything health — preventative care, primary care, telemedicine, clinical services, pharmaceuticals and well-being.

👨🏻‍⚕️👩🏻‍⚕️  How it works

Convenient and 24/7. Schedule a visit to your favorite doctor at one of their clinics. You can even book a home visit or a virtual consultation through video call or chat anytime.

  • Their tech can screen patients' vital signs through a smartphone camera.

All you need. They've got services across specialties for the entire family, like newborn and postpartum care, pediatrics, dermatology, cancer screening and internal medicine.

  • You can even order your medicine from them and get it at your doorstep.

Personalized. Get reminders to take medicine, get check-ups, and hear doctor's recommendations and health tips.

📡  Satellite clinics?

They run flagship clinics in major cities that link to smaller satellite clinics. This allows patients to conveniently access quality services, especially those far away from major hospitals.

  • Each satellite clinic leverages specialized expert doctors and technology from the flagship clinics.

Why it matters. Vietnam has a relatively low number of doctors compared to its population. Plus, this system reduces overload at large hospitals, where many people tend to go even for common diseases.

🤔  What's next?

They're looking to expand their network to over 70 clinics by the end of 2022— with 80% being satellite clinics. They're also looking to build academies to train doctors and nurses and invest in R&D.
