🇲🇾 HOMA2U raises Pre-Series A funding. This Malaysian marketplace for sustainable building and interior design materials just raised $875k from Quest Ventures, Worldwide Management Solutions and Qhazanah Sabah Berhad.

🌏 eBay appoints a new GM for global emerging markets, including Southeast Asia. He's Vidmay Naini, who led eBay's SEA and India businesses. His role covers a ton of markets — SEA, India, Eastern Europe, Israel, the Middle East, Africa and LatAm. According to them, SEA is still a nascent market for eBay, and they expect it to grow a ton more!

  • Scoop Fact: In Southeast Asia, 68% of eBay-enabled small businesses in six SEA countries export to 10 or more international markets.

👾 CMCC Global, an HK-based VC firm, launched a $100M blockchain fund for Asia. They're mainly looking at three main spaces within blockchain: infrastructure, fintech and consumer! Especially with everything happening in crypto in the US, they see Asia (and mainly Hong Kong) as the real opportunity.
