Tiger and Coatue bet on AI voice assistants

March 9, 2022

Say hi to this startup worth talking about! It's AI Rudder, which just raised a $50M Series B led by Tiger Global and Coatue. They build AI voice assistants that sound so human-like you won't realize it isn't a person on the other end.

  • Its 200+ customers include Shopee, Lazada and FinAccel.
  • Its revenue shot up 5x over the last 12 months and was also up 4x year-on-year.
  • It supports over 15 languages, including English, Filipino, Vietnamese, Thai and more.

Who else cashed in? Sequoia Capital, Huashan Capital, Cathay Innovation, First Plus and VenturesLab.

  • Last November, it raised a $10M Series A co-led by Sequoia Capital India and Sequoia China's seed fund.

🗣  When the talking gets tough

If your business uses call centers or has an in-house support and sales team, you know these aren't available 24/7 and are difficult to operate and scale. Plus, they can cost a lot.

The AI difference. Voice assistants can work 24/7, have lower mistakes, and make thousands of calls at the same time. Oh, and you don't need to pay for any training, management and office space.

  • They also automatically record calls and can gather call data to create actionable insights or complete tasks for your team.

😱  Killing all call centers?

Nope. Voice assistants take on repetitive tasks, like cold sales calls and loan payment reminders, which are the bulk of call center operations. Not all tasks!

  • If you need to call all your customers for their names, ages and addresses, the voice assistant can get it done fast.
  • These make companies more efficient and profitable.

💰 What's with the $$$?

Word on the street is they're adding new languages, doubling their team to 300 and adding new features.

  • Potential features include integrations with customer relationship management platforms and multifactor authentication.
